Susan Nelson, MS, LPCC

Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate

I am deeply passionate about providing compassionate support and guidance to individuals as they navigate the intricate challenges of anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, women's issues, and relational difficulties. Life's journey can often present overwhelming moments that leave us feeling adrift or disconnected from ourselves and others. It's during these times that I am dedicated to walking alongside my clients, offering a steady hand to help them find their footing once again.

Furthermore, I find great fulfillment in working with neurodivergent clients, as I have a deep appreciation for the unique challenges and experiences they face. In my approach to therapy with neurodivergent individuals, I prioritize gaining a thorough understanding of their specific needs, strengths, and challenges. This enables me to create a therapeutic environment that is sensitive to sensory sensitivities, communication differences, and other aspects of neurodiversity. By employing personalized strategies and interventions tailored to each individual, my goal is to assist clients in developing coping skills, enhancing communication abilities, boosting self-confidence, and ultimately achieving their personal goals.

My therapeutic style is distinguished by a blend of humanistic and solution-focused approaches, rooted in empathy, unconditional positive regard, and profound respect for each individual's inherent worth and dignity. In addition to providing a supportive and nonjudgmental space for exploration, I utilize solution-focused techniques to help clients identify their strengths, resources, and solutions to their challenges. Together, we focus on practical strategies and goal-setting to empower clients to create positive change and achieve their desired outcomes.

Moreover, I am profoundly dedicated to trauma counseling and specialize in suicide prevention and crisis intervention. I understand the immense impact traumatic experiences can have on an individual's well-being. Therefore, I am committed to offering specialized support and interventions to assist clients in healing from their past traumas, while also empowering them to regain a sense of agency and resilience in their lives.

In our therapeutic journey together, I prioritize understanding your unique experiences, needs, and goals. I tailor my approach to meet the individual needs of each client, ensuring that they receive the support and guidance that resonates most deeply with them. If you're ready to embark on a journey of healing, growth, and self-discovery, I am committed to supporting you every step of the way.
